Life for Baby Memphis began October 17, 2005 with all the experiences of a normal healthy infant, complete with doting Grandparents, crib toys, and 3am feedings.

Seven months later Memphis was admitted to Children's Medical Center in Dallas, Texas and diagnosed with Bacterial Meningitis. From that moment, Memphis Lynn Lafferty's life would never be "normal" again. On June 6, 2006, Memphis was transferred to Parkland Hospital. After two days there, the family was advised that the doctors had to amputate the following limbs: his right leg from below the knee, his left leg from just above the ankle, his left arm below the elbow, and his right arm just above the hand.

A fund has been set up to help pay for Memphis Lynn's mounting medical and educational expenses.
