Haley Vincent Foundation
The Haley Vincent Foundation (HVF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation, was established in June 2006. Our purpose is to continue the compassionate work began by a courageous and talented young girl.
Haley Vincent was just 7 years old when she was diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis, a life threatening condition. Shortly afterwards, she began to write music about her liver disease. She did it to make the children laugh, and they did. Then real miracles began to happen.
Overnight Haley was a singer/songwriter success. She continued to write and record her unique music, turned them into a 6-song CD and gave them away by the hundreds. The children loved this CD that had grown to include a couple of inspirational songs as well. Haley loved writing and singing for her peers, and we often sent pajamas and small toys along with the CDs. Most of these items were mailed, and “miracle mail” was born.
HVF continues to support miracle mail, sending CDs and toys to chronically ill children.
Sadly, Haley died in 2005. We have now incorporated grief packages for those parents who have lost a child.
Because of Haley’s strength and courage in the face of overwhelming adversity, we hope to establish The Haley Vincent Memorial Scholarship Fund and award its first scholarship to the graduating class of 2010. The applicants will be asked to write an essay on overcoming adversity, and the board of the Haley Vincent Foundation will judge the essays and award the scholarship.
Together with We Are One Designs, an exclusive Haley Vincent Foundation necklace has been created in Haley’s honor . We hope you choose to purchase this or any one of our other favorites to show unity and to support our foundation. Or you can purchase any of the We Are One Designs pieces and our foundation will get credit from your purchase(s) — just make sure you put in our fundraising group’s name.
